Merchant Policy

Shipping limits: We ship anywhere within the continental United States. Please contact us for shipments to Hawaii and Alaska. Additional shipping charges apply.
Order Review
The email address that you give during the order process is the manner in which we will always contact you, so please be certain to provide a valid email address and check it often.
All orders are placed as they were originally entered by the client.  A receipt with all the details of your order will be emailed to you upon entry.  As a courtesy only (not required), we allow one business day for you to review your order and get back with us if you have any changes.
Additionally, each on-line order is reviewed by a member of our staff.  If any discrepancies, questions, or conflicts are found, we will contact you by email.  Again, you have one business day to respond by email if you have any changes to your order.  If we require additional information before your order can be processed, the order will be placed on-hold until we can contact you.  However, some issues may not require that the order be placed on-hold.  If we are unable to contact you by email in these instances, you order will be processed as entered.
Customer guarantee: We guarantee that the custom made products we offer are made to your sizes and specifications. If there is a mistake on our part, or the product is damaged, we will provide repair parts or replace it, if necessary, as soon as possible. If it is necessary to return the replaced item for inspection, preparing the shipment is the customer's responsibility. We will pay for return shipping charges in the case of manufacturers defects and with our prior authorization only.
Missing Parts: If an order arrives from the manufacturer with missing parts, please call as soon as possible. We will contact the factory immediately and have them rush shipment any missing items. We are not responsible for delays or installation of missing parts or minor repair parts.
Mistakes in measuring or other specifications by the customer are the customer's responsibility. There are no refunds on custom made products.
All product warranties are provided by the manufacturers. A copy is available upon request.
Shutter Alternatives is not responsible for incorrectly placed orders.  We review each order as a courtesy and quality control measure only.  The order as placed by the client is the final documentation on what is to be delivered.  Any changes to the order must be corrected as explained above.  If your order is changed in any way, an amended order with details will be emailed to you.  This amended order replaces the original order as the final documentation on what is to be delivered.
Return policy: Return shipping charges are the customer's responsibility. Call for return instructions and approval.
Orders for custom made shutternots may not be canceled or returned once they are placed in production.

For factory mistakes, defects, or damage, we will provide repair parts or replacement, if necessary, as soon as possible. If it is necessary to return an item, preparing the shipment is the customer's responsibility. We will pay for return shipping charges in the case of manufacturer's defects and with our prior authorization only.
Damaged shipments: Please note on the freight bill upon delivery if the damage is obvious and call us. Also call us if discovered upon unpacking. Many times it is better to refuse delivery if damage is extensive and apparent. Claims for hidden damage must be made within 14 days of delivery. Keep all packing materials for inspection by the shipper. We will make a claim with the shipper and either repair or replace the damaged item as soon as possible. We will inform you if the package will have to be returned.

Payment options: We gladly accept checks, money orders, PayPal for mail order transactions. All orders must be pain in full before the product is manufactured.
